The surrounding plants and the site should have significantly less illumination than the sculpture. If a scenic spot consists of several arrangements of sculptures that are similar in nature, content and volume, they should be similarly illuminated and in brightness; If a scenic spot consists of several sculptures with different nature, content and volume, the main sculpture and the accompanying sculpture should be selected, so that the main scene sculpture becomes the lighting focus and visual center of the scenic spot.
The brightness of a sculpture is related to the following factors.
(1) The brightness of the sculpture's environment (background). A sculpture in a bright environment is the same as a sculpture in a dark environment. In order to obtain the same ornamental effect, a sculpture in a bright environment needs greater illumination.
(2) The distance between the observer and the sculpture. A long distance, sculpture lighting needs a larger illumination.
(3) The material reflectance of the sculpture surface. For light colored sculptures such as white marble with high reflectance, illuminance should be appropriately reduced; On the contrary, the color of the darker marble sculpture and other irradiation, you need higher illumination. For bronze sculptures with smooth surfaces, serious reflection should be caused by multiple sets of low-power casting lamps instead of high-power casting lamps with the same power. Low power lamps are scattered and the beams overlap to reduce or eliminate reflections.
(4) Coordination of brightness of sculpture and base. The light-colored sculpture is matched with the dark base, which is coordinated and stable under the same illumination. A dark sculpture is paired with a light base, and if both are illuminated with the same amount of light, there is a sense that the sculpture is elevated and unstable. To this end, it is necessary to carry out strong light irradiation on the sculpture and diffuse reflection irradiation on the base in order to highlight the effect of sculpture.
